Principled Wealth Management

Doxa is a Greek word meaning "belief system or way of seeing things."

That is the essence of our core values, our approach and how we apply these beliefs to structuring a financial plan. It's not just taking aim at an end result but viewing the journey in terms of discovery, overcoming obstacles and adapting to changes that are aligned with your values, needs, and dreams. As your trusted financial advisor, whether for you personally of for your business.

Our goal is to develop not just a plan or place a product but to form a relationship based on values shared and understood so that a plan and the instruments implemented are in harmony with our client’s life goals.

How Doxa Advisors Supports Clients
  •  Financial Planning
The process of financial planning helps to clarify goals, set priorities, and implement steps to reach long-term objectives. Planning brings also helps bring order, discipline, and measurable results to the personal finances of our clients. We prepare a written, financial plan, and meet periodically with our clients to update and revise their Financial Plan.

  •  Asset Management
Our clients are seeking independent, professional investment advice. The Doxa Advisors Investment Philosophy emphasizes long-term investment results. We focus on diversification and asset allocation*, performance tracking, and take into consideration income tax consequences**. Each client is served by developing an Investment Policy Statement based on his or her individual objectives and risk profile.

We are guided by the need to diversify portfolios among defined asset classes:
  • Equity (Stocks) vs. Fixed Income (Bonds)
  • Market capitalization (Large vs. Small companies)
  • Relative valuation or ‘style’ (Growth vs. Value)
  • Geography (U.S. vs. International)
Our approach emphasizes planning and service -- rather than portfolio trading and transactions. We do not believe that markets can be ‘timed’ to improve performance. One of the critical values we add to portfolio management is simply the discipline to design and maintain an appropriate asset allocation through market cycles.

  • Risk Management/Insurance
We act as independent insurance advisors to review your insurance programs, analyze coverage needs, and design solutions that integrate business and personal needs.

  • Estate Planning
Our clients desire to transfer their wealth – before or after death – in an orderly way and at minimal tax and administrative cost. In order to conserve the value of an estate built throughout a lifetime and ensure that their wishes are carried out, Doxa Advisors works closely with our clients and their attorney to design and implement an Estate Plan to achieve these objectives.

  • Business Exit Planning
Our Small Business clients desire to exit or transfer their business – before or after death – in an orderly way that maximizes the value they have built. Doxa Advisors works closely with our clients and their partners, such as an accountant and attorney, through a seven-step process to design and implement a Business Exit Plan.

*Neither Asset Allocation nor Diversification guarantees against loss.  They are methods used to help manage investment risk.

** Doxa Advisors does not provide legal or tax advice.  Any decisions whether to implement these ideas should be made by the client in consultation with professional financial, tax and legal counsel.

Some people believe that consultants when asked by the client what time it is reach over and look at the client’s watch and then send a bill for services rendered. Sometimes our work may appear that easy. There are times that the benefit of our expertise is that we can point out the obvious from all the noise and confusion. More often though we work through competing issues, we separate fact from fiction and we analyze the often confusing sets of numbers that represent our client’s finances and investments. The tools that should help them achieve their life goals.

The Professionals at Doxa Advisors will design and implement a well thought out customized plan that recognizes your values and helps you realize your opportunities as you progress on you journey.

The federal estate tax was repealed in 2010, then reinstated by the 2010 Tax Relief Act with new provisions for 2011 and 2012. This article discusses the temporary provisions, the options for estates of 2010 decedents, and potential changes in future years that could subject many more estates to the federal estate tax than under current law.

The Dynamics That Can Drive Inflation

High unemployment and slow wage growth seem to have kept consumer spending and core inflation from growing very rapidly in the first half of 2011. This article reminds investors to keep the potential risk of inflation in mind, because even modest price increases compounded over time can erode the purchasing power of the assets in their portfolios.

New Rules Are in the Cards

In 2010, the federal government issued a dizzying array of rules and reforms affecting consumer credit cards, debit cards, and gift cards. This article explains some of the important developments resulting from enactment of the Credit Card Accountability, Responsibility and Disclosure Act of 2009.

Why Realistic Expectations May Be Great
